The long vanished and useful Eurocheque Card

Hologram of Beethoven on the Co-operative Bank Eurocheque card. c 1987 Valid until 1994. One could write cheques in all the various currencies in Europe. A flickr picture of the accompanying cheques, which arrived loose in a folder may be seen here thanks to @Canadian Pacific.
Eurocheques ceased on 1 Jan 2002, coincidentally the date when the EURO was introduced.
I only have one Eurocheque, one which was returned by the FDJ in East Berlin with a curt note saying "We do not accept Eurocheques" . I had already had my holiday by then, so sent hard currency to keep in their good books.
