Robyn performing Björk’s “Hyperballad” at the Stockholm Concert Hall, Sweden, on August 30th 2010, as part of the 19th annual Polar Music Prize ceremony. This year’s laureates, Islandic artist Björk and the Italian conductor and composer Ennio Morricone, each received prize money to the amount of one million Swedish kronor (USD 122000/EUR 92000). His Majesty the King of Sweden handed over the awards during a nationally televised ceremony. The citations were read by Guðmundur Gunnarsson, father of Björk (sitting next to her in this video), and actor Stellan Skargård. The laureates also received pieces of art specially made for them by artists Karin Mamma Andersson and Jockum Nordström. Björk’s citation: “The Polar Music Prize 2010 is being awarded to Icelandic artist Björk. With her deeply personal music and lyrics, her precise arrangements and her unique voice, Björk has already made an indelible mark on pop music and modern culture at large, despite her relative youth. No other artist moves so freely between avant-garde and pop. With her albums and videos, Björk has taken avant-garde to the top of the charts. She has also always embraced technological advances, combining computers with ancient sounds. Björk has introduced an arctic temperament to popular music and shown how passionate and explosive it can be. Björk is an untameable force of nature, an artist who marches to nobody’s tune but her own.”

They don’t really count her childhood album as an official Bjork album, considering it’s near impossible to find anywhere.

Posted 16 Jul 2012 at 8:09 am ¶I’m watching this film time after time.
It’s possible she didn’t like that they changed the lyrics.
Posted 16 Jul 2012 at 8:18 am ¶She put out an album when she was like 12, but I guess that doesn’t really count. Either way the video is wrong in saying post is her fourth album.
Posted 16 Jul 2012 at 8:49 am ¶Actually, Post is her second album.
Posted 16 Jul 2012 at 8:51 am ¶What a performance….. I’m in love with her eyes !!!

Posted 16 Jul 2012 at 10:06 am ¶I am a big Björk fan but I liked Robyn’s cover even more than the actual (:
Posted 16 Jul 2012 at 10:42 am ¶But it’s the ear and it chooses… so
Dare I say that I prefer this than Bjork’s version?
Posted 16 Jul 2012 at 11:28 am ¶Swedes must be very proud of this. :_)
Posted 16 Jul 2012 at 11:38 am ¶I would like to point out that Bjork sings “Safe again with you” on the record. The liner notes do not always reflect what is actually sung and captured. She could be singing “Steak again with you” and it would still somehow work.
Posted 16 Jul 2012 at 12:27 pm ¶Björk’s face at the end… :’)
Posted 16 Jul 2012 at 1:22 pm ¶ahh. it’s sweet but I don’t think she has the control for it. maybe if it was transposed a bit lower?
Posted 16 Jul 2012 at 1:39 pm ¶This is really cool but… ‘safe UP HERE with you.’
Posted 16 Jul 2012 at 2:38 pm ¶Serious case of goosebumps at 3:39 when the songs break loose…awesome. Plain awesome.
Posted 16 Jul 2012 at 2:57 pm ¶nice sound engineering ^^
